"Bunker Hill" is a 24-mission linear campaign. It requires the CFS2 Korean War Packs 1 and 2 containing the 8 AI aircraft, Steve McClelland's updated Far East scenery,Korean GPS map and vehicle/bridge/viaduct files. (P1 and P2 only require installing once, so if you have them already from a previous Fox Four Korean campaign disregard this step.)

You will fly the F9F2 Panther(USN) from the carrier Bunker Hill CV-17 on Yankee, Dixie and Cowboy Stations and assorted land bases against Communist ground targets, vehicles and aircraft: the MiG-15(2 types),Yak-9P,La-11 and Tu-2 circa 1950-51. AI aircraft flying on the UN side include the F4U, B-26B, B-29, F-86, Sea Fury and S-51.

The campaign was designed to use the WARP feature of CFS2. That feature is enabled at all times when the player is not engaged with the enemy, or in an area designated a Combat Zone. You will not miss anything in a mission by using the WARP feature, but you might take a look around at WPs before doing so...there might be something to see.

INSTALLATION
************

The included file is a self-extracting ZIP that will install all files in the proper folders of your CFS2 main directory. Simply run the self-extracting file, and point it at the directory of your hard-drive that contains your CFS2 main directory. EXAMPLE: If you have a default CFS2 installation, you would point the self-extractor at C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Combat Flight Simulator 2(the default setting).

After installation the campaign will appear in your CFS2 Campaigns menu, and the Kw F9F2 will appear in your Free Flight menu.

The missions are also playble individually from the Single Missions menu.

NOTE 1: There is an additional mission in the Single Missons mode. This is a carrier qualification mission which you may use to practice takeoffs and landings from the Bunker Hill.

NOTE 2: It is also suggested that you read carefully the Pilot's Notes and Panel Notes text documents provided in the download in order to be prepared for carrier takeoffs, simulated catapult shots and airstarts, as well as becoming familiar with the features of the aircraft.

IMPORTANT #1
************
To avoid the "exploding jets" problem with jet aircraft in CFS2, you must make the following manual change to your CFS2.cfg file, which is located in the main CFS2 directory:

- Open the CFS2.cfg file in Notepad.
- Scroll down to the [REALISM] section.
- Change 'StressDamage=True' entry to read 'StressDamage=False'.
- Save and close the file. That's it.

This option cannot be accessed from any in-program menus, and can be changed back manually or left in place permanently.

IMPORTANT #2
************
In order to use the Advanced Information feature of CFS2 with this campaign, you must have the entries for the Korean bases in your CFS2/INFO/airbases.dat file. It is STRONGLY SUGGESTED that you simply replace your existing airbases.dat file with the one included in the download, making a backup of your original for future reference. The provided airbases.dat file is simply the stock CFS2 version with the Korean entries added, and may be left in place permanently. (If you already have a Fox Four airbases.dat file installed from another of our campaigns, you can skip this step entirely.)

You may add the Korean airfield entries listed below to the airbases.dat file in your CFS2/INFO folder manually by following these steps, BUT THIS IS DISCOURAGED because of the potential for conflicts. To do so, open your airbases.dat file in Notepad. Make a space between the last runway entry and the small rectangle symbol(make sure not to delete this symbol). Copy/Paste the following new entries into the the space you have made. You MUST then renumber the "[runway.x]" and "id=x" fields in each these new entries sequentially, beginning with the numbers in your last original entry plus 1. Example: If your last original entry was "[runway.121]" with "id=8050", then you would begin renumbering the new entries with "[runway.122]" and "id=8051":
